Trying to start Mango and kiwi
« on: February 08, 2015, 07:38:40 pm »
I just started to germinate a Mango seed and some kiwi seeds.  I would love to grow a mango tree in a container.  Never done this before

The first Mango seed I tried to start in paper towels and plastic bad never germinated.  I recently planted two new ones directly into the soil hump side up and both germinated.  One has 5 very large leaves (5 or 6") and the other is just starting to get its leaves so they are stubby about 1/2 inch.

At first I was worried because the first leaves you see look like something bit off the top of the plant and left it all jaggedy. And I'm so used to seeing two leaves to start from normal seeds, not four.
