I got back from a week long vacation last night. I was tired so I went to sleep.
This morning I went down to check on my hydroponic system to see how the pumpkins are doing. What I saw caused my jaw to drop in horror. The basement was flooded. It wasn’t my system that caused the flood but a water filter for the house that blew out or something. The plumber put in cutoffs and bypass when they installed the water filter so that was an easy fix.
Next I had to deal with about 3″ of standing water on the concrete. I fortunately have a sump pump I use for my hydroponic system so I used that to empty the water into a drain pipe. After a few hours I went to clean everything up and was wondering why my MH light wasn’t shining. I turns out that it blew. So yet another thing I had to deal with. Fortunately I had a spare.
So with all this I seem to be back up and running. The pumpkin looks like it might recover. I have no idea how much water flowed but I guess I’ll find out with the next water bill. OUCH.
