My simple home garden

My first attempt failed. I think it got too much water and rotted. This new ‘pup’ has a lot of roots so it should have a better time. Plus it is getting a lot more light. It is also sitting under a webcam for those interested.

There is nothing alive down there anymore. I decided to try to help my venus flytrap out (which is dying) by putting it under the super bright lights of the hydroponic system. Who knows, maybe it will thrive and get rid of some pesky bugs.

Algae continues to block the return hose back to my reservoir. I think I have to clean everything out really well and start over. This time I’m going to make sure to use an opaque hose or to wrap it in electrical tape to make sure light doesn’t get in the hose.

I went down to check on the pumpkin plant in the basement and it is no more. It is all dried up and deceased. Time to start another one.

I’m determined to grow a pumpkin in my basement. I guess I’ll do some research.

It probably wasn’t good to use the pump to unflood my basement and then put it back to work without actually cleaning it ;P.
